The water quality information shown on this dashboard is based on both long-term categorisation as well as the latest sample results – it does not portray water quality in real time.

Laboratory testing and reporting take time, and conditions may therefore change between the day the sample was taken and publication. Water quality can also decline for short periods after rainfall, particularly near rivers and stormwater outlets. This is common in urban areas around the world.

This platform is intended to help inform the public about the latest sample results, long-term trends for beaches, related advisories, and alerts. It should be used as a guide, and the decision to visit or use a coastal area for recreation remains the responsibility of the individual.
