  Tomorrow's rainfall is expected to cause a short-term decline in water quality at some beaches over the next 24-48hrs.

  Beaches that may be affected include Strand, Gordon's Bay, Sea Point beaches, Saunders Beach, Hout Bay Beach and the norther shores of False Bay near river mouths.

  Puffer fish washout at Simon's Town Long Beach and surrounds.

  Puffer fish have been observed washing up at Simon's Town Long Beach and immediate surrounds. Puffer fish are poisonous. Members of the public are advised to be vigilant when in the area and to keep their dogs away from impacted beaches.

  City staff have commenced with the removal of the puffer fish in impacted areas.

  Pollution event east of the Strand Pavilion

  The pumpstation has been repaired and there is no more sewage discharging, but the warning signage will remain in place at Strand Pavilion until the water quality results are within the national threshold for recreational use.

  Polluted water discharging from the Sir Lowry's Pass River has back-pooled at Gordon's Bay Main Beach.

  Investigations are underway to determine and address the source of polluted water. Public health and safety advisory signage has been erected on site.

• ENVIRONMENTAL ALERT

  Coastal waters at northern end of Kommetjie Long Beach affected by sewage discharge into Bokram River

  Sewage overflow in Ocean View has entered the Bokram River, which flows across the beach into coastal waters at the northern end of Kommetjie Long Beach. The flow is very low.
